The 2nd Riverdale Sparks clean up their local park.

Our local park borders a large suburban woodlot. Much of the area has been lost to development and as a result many of the creatures that live there have lost their natural habitat. This year we focussed on trying to keep our local environment clean for people and wildlife to live in harmony. We often go to the park to pick up trash. We hope that when the neighbours see us cleaning up, they understand that if kids like us can do something to keep our Earth clean so can everyone!

We value our park space because it gives us somewhere to be active. It also gives us a place where we can learn about nature. We hope that our activities will help to make a difference in our community and motivate others to do the same!
