This has been a busy year for us. We have been working hard to raise environmental awareness using our composting program. Every classroom in our school has a compost bin which is emptied twice each week by students in each class. Overall, we´re redirecting three large bins of compost each week from the landfill.

Our Green Team has been working hard at alerting all of the students to our litterless lunch and walk to school days both through in-class presentations and through morning announcements. We have also organized many playground cleanups around our school grounds and we love to see other students remembering to pick up garbage, composting or recycling. Sometimes, we even hear other students in the school chanting the Green Team cheer!

We´re hoping to create a greater impact on the community next year and so are in the developing stages of putting together a newsletter that would go home with helpful tips for parents and students. We can´t wait until our first published edition!
