What are they?
Why are they hard to set up?
What you can do

To learn how you can affect change, you need to first learn about the issues. Watch the news, read the newspapers, surf ecokids.ca and talk to people who can teach you even more. And ask lots of questions!

Here's what you can do:

Exclamation pointTake Active Transportation.
Bike, walk or skate to your destinations whenever it's safe and practical to do so.

Buy Organic Produce.
Buy fruits and vegetables that were grown locally without harmful pesticides and help farmers make a living while preserving our green space.

Write Letters.
Make your voice heard by writing letters to your local transit authorities encouraging them to improve public transportation in sprawling communities. Contact your local government to preserve the green spaces in your community.

Conserve Water.
With every new sprawl community, less water is available to recharge the underground water table. If we are water-wise, we can help reduce that impact.
