Auyuittuq National Park
"Takuminatualuk" is Inuktitut (the local language often spoken in Nunavut) for "That's Beautiful" in English. You will be amazed by the beauty in Auyuittuq (pronounced "aw-you-it-tuck") National Park. This National Park is so far north and remote that there are minimal traces of human development. Surrounded by glaciers, mountains and ice fields, you can also visit Blubber Station, an old whale outpost!

Ellesmere Island
Did you know Ellesmere Island is the world's tenth largest island and the northernmost island in the Canadian Arctic? A long time ago Captain Stephenson discovered Ellesmere Island in 1875 aboard his ship, the HMS Discovery. Although so far north, the island is not barren; there is a small community called Eureka where scientists work to monitor weather and the climate. It is also the world's northernmost permanent settlement!
