You can find Nile crocodiles throughout Africa. They are one of the most widespread crocodiles.
Likes to Hang Out:
Nile crocodiles live in rivers, marshes, lakes and ponds. They remain in the same territory throughout their entire life, only moving if their homes dry up. They can be seen living alone or in small groups of similar sized crocodiles.
Likes to Eat:
Anything - including wildebeest, gazelles, buffalo, wild dogs and lions. Their predators are other crocodiles and humans.
Status:
Overall the species is healthy, but there are a few areas that have low population numbers. In western and central Africa, crocodile numbers are poorly reported. The true state of the species in this area is unknown.
