Giant Canada geese have a distinctive white chinstrap that stands out against their black head and neck. They are large birds that love to swim and bathe in the water, especially on warm days. When traveling, they fly in V-formation and can often be heard honking loudly.

Giant Canada geese are found across Canada and the northern U.S. Some don't migrate, staying in southern Canada if they can find food and open water.

Likes to Eat:
The giant Canada goose eats roots, seeds, shoots, grain, and berries. In ponds, they eat plants off the bottom with their tail and back end in the air!
Status:
They are considered pests in some cities, because large groups of geese destroy lawns, pollute waterways and can be aggressive towards people. The birds have no natural predators in cities.
